Update: Had last family meal with my brother and my mother. Said our last goodbyes, and he just now boarded plane going back to his motherland. I'm not an emotional guy.. but this is surreal and sad seeing him go...

I've been in your shoes before and know how you feel. This won't be your last goodbye however. This is just the closing of one chapter of life and the opening of another. You will feel empty inside for a while and will have bouts of sadness, but you'll get through. Nothing ever stays the same and you'll be seeing each other before you know it. At least now days with social media and the internet, the world is a much smaller place.

You're a strong fella (mentally). Reading your quote, I can't help to think about the sadness you went through when DACA was implemented. I remember reading all kinds of stories in that year here. Most aged out dreamers left or disappeared from this forum. Takes a tremendous amount of mental stability and balls to stick around and talk about it. Hope everything turns out well for you bro.

Thanks, it's not easy but I've got another 2 years left in me so we'll see how things go. It's kind of ironic because before DACA, I used to feel sadness for the other people on here because in a way, I was the lucky one in comparison having had a SSN, DL, etc. while others on here didn't, alas, I'm glad at least you guys get to experience some normalcy.

Update: It has been little over 1 month. He already found a job as an english teacher and made a girlfriend. Met all the cousins and seem like he is doing fine. He got his paperwork straight and listed for korean military. In the meantime, he is saving money and enjoying life. Perhaps leaving US is not bad after all.

I'm happy for you and your brother. Hopefully its sooner than later where we can all go visit the family we have in our countries of birth.

Korean isn’t even a third world country. Why DO Korean people chose to live here illegally rather than enjoy all the benefits of their first world country?

I swear this makes no sense at all
