It does not impact us YET. You need to send it your renewal ASAP. Not sure what everyone is waiting for. We have repeatedly said on this forum to send it ASAP. SCOTUS can rule on DACA anyday.... you may miss the opportunity by 1 day... you are cutting it hella close!

Was planning to send my renewal tomorrow but did it today instead. Paid 25$ for overnight shipping.

As far as I can tell this does not affect the DACA program. Only those applying for a immigrant visas.

More pandering to his base, most things are already shut down in terms of incoming flights.

Pretty much the only ones who can get in are USC and permanent residents.

Even the visa centers outside of the US were already long closed by the time he made this assouncement.

It's just a show announcement, the real action already happened. This maybe just formalizes things. In any case its a good idea on multiple ends of the stick.

Prevents the Covid-19 virus from coming in via foreigners increasing our already epic problems of this fine nation.
Decreases how many arrive at a time of record breaking unemployment.
Even refugees are being told to stay home and they normally get to come in.

He is allowed to cut off immigration for health reasons, but he can also fulfill his racist xenophobic goals of closing down migration to the brown and the yellow.

Trump is not someone to ignore this type of deal. He is a businessman after all, a failed one, but still technically one.

The executive order was a nothing burger. Bans some work visas and some family based immigration (for non USC relatives). Also only excludes people already outside of the US. All of this doesn’t matter since all the consulates are closed and not processing paperwork right now.

Can you provide a link to a outline of main points or the actual language of the memo?

Curious to know if people adjusting within the US (seeking a green card) via family immigration options are affected by this.

Judging from the language it doesn't apply to people already within US, so AOS should go through. Hell, even those doing consular processing are fine assuming they either got their visa already or are still in US today, which is a moot point since consulates are shuttered.

Those changes are pretty much what Stephen Miller wanted in exchange of DACA. Look for this policy to be indefinitely renewed by Trump essentially cutting legal immigration into the US in half in exchange for giving dems nothing. Dems lose again.
