I'm curious what democrats think about border security and what their plans are. If their plan is to take any action on the border (more funding to DHS and/or more funding for the State Department to address the core reason why there's a larger flow of people coming in) they should propose that to republican senators and could sway a few of them. They need to do it now. If their action is to do nothing, I'd be surprised because immigration is the issue that's polling the lowest for democrats.
This 1000000%.

They don’t care because they know immigrants do not have any other options.

I lost all hope in Harris when she voted against the Dream Act in the Senate, only to use the issue for her own political theater. I seriously have a hard time trusting her.

My predictions is the Democrats will back down on their entire immigration demand just like they’ve done in the past, then Biden will use DHS and explore the options, although they most likely won’t have many options to go to.

I mean they should care about the voters. If immigration is the lowest polling for your party you'd at least address it. Harris did visit some Countries in South America and tried to try to address the "root" cause of the migration and she should be pitching that to republican senators and secure funding for it long term. Throw a couple billion for boarder security too if it's necessary. That way you can say republicans didn't vote for border security when you're pushing for the bill to pass. They'd at least get some talking points if republicans don't vote for it. Talking to DACA people when they can't vote and you know exactly what DACA people want.... it's difficult to understand why.

Still, let's see what happens in the next 2 weeks. I'm interested to see if there's any text related to the border and addressing "root" causes of migration in the actual bills. If there is, then democrats can use it as talking points to get votes. If not, then they will literally have to get all 50 dems to vote for it, which is a bigger gamble.

They would care if immigrants could vote. They lose nothing by putting us last on their priority.

Right. In the end they all say we tried and blame other party. No one really gives a shit.
