I initially submitted my request in March 2021. At that time I was furloughed because of the pandemic. I requested 45 days to spend 1 month in Mexico while I was not working. I waited month after moth but no news or updates on my case. I then began working once again in September and this is when I was approved so I was no longer able to take off for an extended time from work. I booked my ticket the day after I received my travel doc in the mail. I then told my employer I had a family emergency and had the to leave the country for a week.

So yes 8 days was a very short trip after waiting 6 months but I knew I couldn't be absent from work for much longer than that. I'm still grateful I was able to go and come back with no issues.

Has anyone used Dallas Forth Worth Airport to do immigration customs?

Date Application Sent: 1/19/2013 to Chicago Lockbox.
Delivered 1/27/2013 and routed to Nebraska Service Center.
Date of I-797 C notice of action: 01/30/2013
Date of Biometrics scheduled: 3/5/2013
Date of approval: 05/01/2013. Card Production on 04/30/13.

Can you share about your airport experience entering the US on the way back from your trip?
