My point is that Texas is clearly making it difficult for anyone with DACA living there. While he may have been saved this time, what will happen if Hanen revises this decision? Furthermore, living in one of the worst states possible is not ideal.

Their deportation numbers have been falling after consuming a lot of the easy low hangingfruit They've even stopped announcing deportation numbers.

Do not trust or sign anything ice tells you. If you don't know what what you're signing, don't sign. Here or anywhere.

Staying calm, asserting your rights, asking for a lawyer, and signing nothing without an attorney present is the way to go. As we just read, just because ICE detains you, does not mean you are automatically getting deported.

If he can't work, he'll likely self deport. So mission accomplished by ICE.

What is the true cost, though? While having strong family ties is important, will it be sufficient to pay your bills? You cannot even rely on working under the table as a viable option, as nothing is secure at this point, not even starting your own business.

Dreamers always find a way, man. He will probably move to a blue state if work authorization is revoked in Texas.

Would it even make a difference? ICE has jurisdiction anywhere in the County, blue or red. Yes maybe a blue State won’t be as bad as living in a red state, but it won’t protect you from ICE or give you a work permit so you can get a job and provide for your family. Most blue states now a days are even implementing e-verify.
