The debate was going pretty well until she started saying nuke-U-lar, even though she would step aside certain questions and all. Overall she performed much better than I expected, but should have been more formal in her responses. Phrases like, "your darn right", "I'll tell you straight out" etc, decrease her presidential credibility. I noticed during her closing statement, she repeated some things to take up the rest of her two minutes.

Biden on the other hand, made some mistakes in his responses, had trouble finishing words and stuttered occasionally reminding me of McCain. He appeared more experienced and knowledgeable and at least he can pronounce nuclear.

This has bean easily much more entertaining than the Obama McCain "debate", not like this was a debate either but i digress...

Bidden obviously came out the much more convincing candidate, and Palin got destroyed throughout the first half. I mean she didn't even try to bs her way out of some questions, instead she just went straight for "never mind you asked me this, let me talk about this completely different topic instead..." And off she goes attacking Obama and Bidden, making Bidden respond in turn wasting time on something not even close of what was asked. At least the moderator had the balls to call both of them out on it, at least in the beginning.

And wtf was up with the vice presidential bit? Obviously another Palin gaffe, but good lord if that wasn't a pro Cheney response. Obviously she was skirting the question which only leads me to believe that she will not only continue Cheney's policies but will try and even expand them. Not like Bush my ass. Compare that to Bidden's response, not only did he go straight to the point, he even condemned Cheney's actions.

Also like someone already mentioned, her "oh golly gee whiz shucks all-mighty tee hee" attitude. Yeah, you're not running for a VP of some Parent Teacher Association hockey club in some boony Alaska town, fucking act like it. Personally I think that Bidden was on the ball with his presentation, it was even better than Obama's, i'd go as far to say he's even the better speaker of the two. He presented and defended his points with passion, it's as if he had something to say! Actually placing Bidden and Obama side by side, orator skill wise, Obama almost reminds me of Milton from Office Space.

But not like Bidden was exactly perfect either, however my selective memory was obviously more preoccupied with Palin so someone else go ahead and criticize him for me.

To be fair, that's the way people in the field of nuclear research pronounce it. I guess it's the elitist way to say it.

I think she did well in the manner that she was never stumped; although, her unwillingness to answer certain questions showed that she hadn't practiced those questions.

I'd give Biden an A-. I wanted him to completely humiliate Palin without actually humiliating her. You know, by doing it the smart way.
Nevertheless, he did a good job.

B for Palin. She did better than I thought, so I have to give her credit.

I would give them the same grades. I didn't expect Biden to mess up and he didn't. McCain campaign definitely cleaned up Palin because she didn't do half that bad. Keep in mind that she was only a mayor and a first time governor where Biden has been in Senate for a long long time. And for people who are criticizing her for her folksy hockymom style, dont forget that the right wing religious nuts actually love her for that same exact reason.

Sen. Biden A hands down. He stuttered a few times but overall he kept his cool, gave clear answers, stated his point, statistics were good (shows his experience), he has charisma, and I really do genuinely like him and could actually relate to him, even though he didn't ramble as much as Palin about his family and stuff. Also, I would not be worried at all if he had to take over the presidency, he truly does know his stuff.

Gov. Palin B- for effort. I gave her credit for smiling so much when it was obvious she was nervous as hell. Her answers were not clear, most of them at least. She stalled too much with irrelevant crap, obviously she confused this debate with a meeting with the PTA or something because all she ever talked about was her family, her friends, and I swear if I hear the words ALASKA, GOVERNOR, and MAVERICK one more time I swear I'm going to find her and slap her!!!
Overall, this woman does not belong in the white house AT ALL, I do not trust her. I lost all respect for her when she decided to take on the responsibility of possibly being the VP of the U.S., knowing she has 5 children she could be devoting more time to.

I'm sorry if this review is a little biased I just really really dislike the bitch!

I think Biden did very well although at times he'd ended his answers with quick glares at Palin. Palin came off as way too artificial on some of the responses and just kept saying "oh, we'll make it all better, everything is going to be fine" without providing any concrete details. This made Biden look good because he'd come up with some detailed answers so it really looks that Obama/Biden have their act together.

I was especially pleased by the fact that she obviously skirted some questions and tried to return to her alleged strength, energy policy. Which by the way, Biden totally schooled her on. She came off sounding like some over-anxious Republican wanting to drill everywhere in the United States.

And I agree with the previous posts that the whole amateurish, "aw shucks, you're mah buddy" routine didn't go over too well. She seems like she'd make a good mom but not a Vice President. I would've liked Biden to tone down some of the constant swipes at McCain. Its nice for some answers but after a while "McCain did this, McCain didn't do this" becomes annoying. I got really pissed at Palin's relentless remarks about being Governor of Alaska. Yeah we get it lady, you're the damn Governor of Alaska. Get over it!!

In conclusion, I think Biden did well, Palin fared relatively well but then again the expectations were set very low for her. I don't think she gave anything to convince people to support the McCain/Palin ticket and she may have dissuaded some of the intellectual Republican female voters.

Historically, vice presidential debates have had no significant impact on Presidential campaigns so this may just be some news for a little while but will most likely die out quickly. If McCain was looking for a bump or some momentum from this debate, he didn't get it.

Yeah Palin did better than what EVERYBODY expected. But no real substance, and i didnt like how she tried so act as "normal and familiar" as possible.
At least she put a bandaid on her damaged image.

Biden didnt commit any gaffs, which was a relief, the man looked so good while talking. Better than McCain could ever be.

And, shit, i didnt know Biden had a dead daughter and wife...i got really sad when he choked up. That alone could get him some sympathy support .

Anyway we all knew Biden would win, and like some posts above said, this debate isnt really relevant to the presidential campaign.
