Rewritten and revised? I guess we will have to wait and see.

It is currently being revised and rewritten for consideration in Congress in 2009.
i hope theres some backup to that statement and it wasn't just said out of speculation...

I got a response back.

Hi,

I am the reporter who wrote the story, 'Migrant students still pursue the American dream' for The Zonie Report.

The source I got the information about the DREAM Act being "re-written" was the National Immigration Law Center. The reason I put it in quotations is because it is being revised more than it is being completely re-written. The supporters behind the DREAM Act are trying to make it more appealing and considerable to those who voted against it in 2007.

Thanks for your question,
--
The National Immigration Law Center is a very reliable source.

That is good news! Thanks YGAA for contacting her. Even if they do change some things, I think it will be for the better. Durbin knows what we want and he'll do everything in his power to make sure we qualify. I don't think they will change anything with the age because it won't really make a difference to senators who already consider this amnesty. If anything, they'll change our "level" of legality, if that makes any sense... whether it be conditional residency, renewable visas, etc.

The person who wrote the article could have interviewed someone from the NILC to get her information rather than looking at articles.

Politicians lining up for Hutchison's U.S. senate seat

http://www.star-telegram.com/228/story/1025948.html

Hutchison, a Republican, hasn’t formally announced that she will resign her Senate seat to run for governor in 2010. But she came close on Thursday in Austin, where she was the luncheon speaker at a daylong political seminar.

Hutchison is resigning in 2010 we should lobby her as well to work with Durbin.
