So there's a chance of renewals stopping on September? I just sent my application and I expire in December. I was also not feeling too great about losing months. Or are they approving by order of expiration?

No date has been set in stone for Daca as of yet. There is still appeals and other court cases going on that could affect the outcome. Some experts are saying if the new ruling goes through, that daca may be tied up in court battles until next year. But all of that is just speculation and guess work. I think your application should be fine, a December exp should get renewed in July

How many of you that received an renewal early (i.e. before your previous EAD expired) are presenting your new EAD to your employer/HR ASAP versus waiting a bit?

It is just the initial stages of the law suit, no judgement has been passed as of yet. It should not effect the current application since no order has been given.

My hope is that this helps motivate congress. We wont see any action until midterms are over, but hopefully something gets done..

I do hope trump shuts down the government in September over his board wall funding.. Maybe now he will accept the original deal of daca for the wall and put an end to all of this.

Submitted my renewal last week. USCIS received/accepted it yesterday and cashed my check today. My permit expires 10/13/18.

I doubt it. People forget Judge Hansen ruled against DAPA because of the APA not because it was unconstitutional. This will definitely end up in the Supreme Court and they will make the final call.

The main issue in regards to the constitution is that did Obama overreach executive power to creating daca? Try to imagine the Legislative branch as the part of the government that creates laws (which they stopped doing), and the executive branch as the part that executes the laws. The 7 states are saying that Obama stole power from congress when he created daca.

The main flaw in their argument is that the executive branch has the power to defer action against and set priorities on what laws to enforce and who to enforce them against, for which there is precedent. DACA made us low priority and we have no legal status. That is in the presidents power. If he granted us a status, that would be outside his power.

The flip side is that trump has the power to cancel DACA legally but he just went about doing it the wrong way. Jeff Sessions, shit the bed on that... thank god for us.

Okay. I'm having a little freak out moment at work. I might have or might have not sent them a copy of my work permit. I can't wait to go home and check the copies I made. Since we are all renewing forgetting to send copies of work permit card , or DACA letter approval. Is it still a necessity?like a chance of an rfe for it? Lol

I sent it to HR about a month after I received it, but only because I was too lazy to make a copy and mail it to them lol. There is no point in waiting

Why dont you ask HR if they have your new work permit on file? If they dont, then just make a copy and send it. One time I completely forgot to send them my new work permit even after the one they had on file had expired. They themselves forgot to ask me for the new one. Nothing a few emails couldn't fix.
