After almost 10 months my DACA was FINALLY approved after a complicated RFE. Now waiting for the I765 and hoping that it doesn't take the full 90 days (24 days and counting) . I have to put my degrees to use!!!! Bright side? Not only did I finally get an approval, but I won't be in the deportation line for the next 2 years. For those 2012 folks still waiting, I'm wishing and praying for a speedy approval!

Back in 2001, I was employed temporarily for 3 months at a local consulate and obtained an A2-visa. I was able to get a SS# to get a drivers license. After my employment was done at the consulate, I automatically went back to my "undocumented status" even though the visa was valid for a year but technically only valid for my duration of employment. I submitted two letters, one from the General Consul and the second from the Vice-Consul who I worked under stating that their records indicate that I have not been employed by the consulate after 2001. I was fortunate to still keep in touch with them. It is frustrating having to wait for the EAD. The main reason is that MANY prospective employment opportunities (research, academia, journalism) have been lost, but I also just turned 32 (barely made the 31 age cut by a couple weeks) and REALLY need to start working. Hopefully it gets approved soon and I too hope that yours gets approved quickly!

self filed or lawyer ? maybe the waiting has something to do with you having a previous ssn so their trying to solve all that out ? , maybe , who knows , either way i hope its quick
