I've filed 3 different i765 and always receive appt with 797
797 just confirms that they received your application and all info they needed was filled out and money order / check was the right amount. Now the biometrics date will be given and then USCIS officer will review application.

The 797 everyone is referring to is the text / email send to them. The actual 797 may have biometrics date with it

Nope.
I know what I am referring to, please go back and re-read his sig to see why this was started in the first place.

There are different types of I-797 the one we are receiving first is I-797 not I-797c which just shows our application has been accepted with our receipt number (if I'm not mistaken)

I'm really confused my lawyer has filled the application online. Now he says that he is sending me papers to sign and to send along money order and passport pictures along with papers signed back to him so he can send everything in.. But I see here that everybody is sending them themselves through UPS so I'm I supposed to send them my self or my lawyer does it for me??

you could send them yourself, but if your lawyer is competent they will ask for them back to make sure everything is correct/included. UPS is not USPS, I'd say most people are mailing them through the latter.

There is no need for confusion, first of all you could have done everything yourself and sent the application yourself, but since you are already paying a lawyer to do it he will take care of it. The process you are going through will prolong your wait time and save you 5-10 hours you would waste by gathering everything in which you have already and filled out the forms.

I think he meant he filled in adobe reader pdf format and send the file to your email so that you can printout forms and sign on them. At thi spoint, he does not mean e-file to USCIS, but fill in pdf format. So do not worry. He will take care of them.

I needed the lawyer bc I lacked evidence and had problems. Im just worried that I'm not the one who is sending everything through UPS or express.. I thought I was suppose to send everything.. I guess the lawyer will do that.. Thanks for your opinions!!
