Hey guys I am a first time applicant and recently applied for the Deffered Action For Childhood Arrivals.

I had prepared this application all by myself.
Plus Lawyers are way too expensive.

It took me 4 months and 24 days.

Here is my timeline below:
Application Sent USPS: 04/29/2015 (Priority Express)
Application Received by USCIS: 05/01/2015
Application Rerouted to California Service Center: 05/02/2015
Received Acceptance Letter/BIO: 05/28/2015
Biometrics Appointment: 06/12/2015
RFE Notice Received: 08/22/2015
RFE Mailed Back: 09/08/2015 (Priority Express)
RFE Received by USCIS: 09/09/2015
DACA/EAD APPROVED: 09/24/2015
EAD Card Received: 10/02/2015

I have a quick question. I got approved for I821D on 09/21 but my I765 says initial review? Is this normal?

just got biometrics done. Do I mail back the paper to my service center? should i get tracking?

no! you just wait now. check online on the uscis website through your receipt numbers thats it. good luck!

Anyone get there approval yet from applying in october? Forgot my actual date but 27th of sept I went for bio and now im anxiously waiting for my approval. Recently my family applied for an adjustment of status and denied us and looks like now we might get deported soon so im hoping my DACA gets approved. Have no criminal record and family has been here since 1999 and only a year ago came back to us saying our paper work was denied in 2003 but every time we asked for a request its been pending and pending. Parents luckily got work authorization throughout the years but twice I was denied and some other crap that "my case" was missing.

My case was sent to California and hoping to hear something now till end of december...Our last thing to do is plead for a judge to not go back to south africa due to how the country is and how there is no way we could survive ( we are white) We also resubmit a 245-I which we are fully eligible for. Our whole appeal was they didnt get back to us in time of our status and also put in the 245-I with our case to help but now they denied that for some reason. We are talking to our lawyer now. Hes done better work than 4 others we have been to and all they did was tell us our case was still pending.

Im freaking out a bit, small chance I could stay with school since I just started my first year of college and I could support myself if I could work but if my parents left there would be no way to pay for living plus community college classes without FASFA. I start class again soon and I dont want to hold of my education because of this and I dont want to start taking more than two online classes and then end up leaving.

Still waiting for mine hopefully I am approved this month!

Same here, do you think the dmv will let me get my permit showing DACA approval? That way I can at least drive a bit before my drivers till my social comes in.
