Thanks for the Nevada thread this has been very helpful. I just sent my packet on Friday, hopefully they aren't taking as long anymore seems like a lot of you waited for a very long time!!

Went to the SSA office this morning right before it opened. I was surprised to see the line outside the door! It was pretty much freezing outside. Lol.

Everything went well, except for a few minor typos that the teller had made (I made sure that they were fixed before anything was submitted).

She also told me that she was going to ask me a few questions to 'expedite' the process, but the only question she asked before I left was if all the information I read/provided was correct...

I was out of there within 45 minutes of the office opening. Not bad, imo!
Quick question: Should I go get a printout or wait for my card?

I was planning on getting a printout and heading to the DMV on Thursday. Do we know how long we have to wait and if they still take printouts?

Unfortunately, I do not remember the name of the attendant who helped me. She was an African-american woman. I saw her several times at each visit.

ID without EAD or SSN? You could try. My first visit I could have gotten an ID or Permit with just the EAD. You can try. I don't know if things have changed.

I also went in the morning at the end of October. It was freezing. And the line was horrible.

Its up to you. The social security card arrives so fast it will make your head spin. Since you were planning on going Thursday I would wait. There is a chance it will arrive.

I applied mid October and i just got my EAD card today, I'm super excited.

I've been scoping this tread out for a while now and i am very happy for it as i have found it to be very helpful. I'm glad LV dreamers have a place to come too. it'd be fun to all get together if that idea ever pulls threw. :P

Well i'm doing pretty good my self.
I got a credit card to start building my credit.
Passed my drivers permit test on the weekend, now i need to take my drivers license test.
I'm working in Tonopah, Nevada. I got to put my social to work as soon as i got it :]. They're building a Solar Plant over here and managed to get a job up here paying $24.95 a hour, i just hope it last's. I live here during the week, and drive back to Vegas on the weekend.
I mean i've hit plenty of road bumps, but that's life.

How long did it take for your social security card to arrive??? It's been two weeks today, and i still haven't received it.....

@Dreamer224 I went to the SS office on a Tuesday, and it arrived on Saturday... so it took 4 days for me.

@ThelmaM hahah yup! Good luck! hopefully they got their things together and you get a speedy approval.

To all, i have U.S Bank. The day my social arrived i went to the bank to update my social, and got approved for a credit card with a limit of $500 to help build my credit.

Damn. Someone has been busy. Good for you Pauly.
