So this is my experience with ASC Hackensack maybe it can help people or idk inform them.

My appointment was at 1:00 pm. I got there at 12:20 the officer was really nice! I passed him my letter and valid passport he checked my hands and gave me the paper to fill in. He said "thank you for coming early." lol The paper just asks: Name, DOB, Country where you were born and are a citizen of, Alien number, Receipt number, height, eye and hair color, and weight. I gave it back to him he stamped my appointment later and told me to sit at the blue chairs where there was only one person in front of me. I got called after like 2 minutes of sitting. Then a woman took my letter and input the info on the computer and told me to check that everything was correct. She then sprayed my hands with water and dried them and started taking my fingerprints. Then I sat down in front of the camera and took my pic for the EAD. Check everything and sign and your done. She gave me a yellow paper which was a survey of the service. Really nice people I was out in less than 10minutes!!

You are approved! Congrats beach grl. Your lucky Melissa. My brother been waiting for 11days now. He was approved on the 3rd of oct and went to apply for ssn on the 11th. He called a week later and the lady on the phone said she can't tell him if he was issued a number or what his number might b. and he has to go to the office in person to ask them.

Hey New Jersey!

I did my Biometrics on 9/17/12 at Hackensack, case approved 9/28/12 and EAD card arrived 10/4/12. I applied for my S# on 10/10/12 at the SSA office in Manhattan (didn't know there was one in NJ) and received my S# card on 10/15/12. The Manhattan office had great service and everything went by quickly and smoothly. Went to the DMV for the first time last Saturday in Lodi and got my state ID and driver's permit! Granted, I was in there for 3 hours because of the ridiculous line (went 8am when it opened and left 11am), but it was definitely worth it

These past few weeks have been both amazing and a blessing. It's been a bit hectic taking Megabus back and forth from school to home (I go to school in upstate NY), but I immediately went for the next available step so that my application could be processed and finished as soon as possible. I'll always remember my roots and stay humble, and I'm excited for everyone else to receive their # too

For the 6-points at the DMV, I used:
- (3 pts) Current photo employment authorization card (Form I-688B
or I-766). Must be presented with valid Social Security card.
- (2 pts) US college photo ID card with transcript
- (1 pt) Social security card

Proof of address:
- High school or college report card or transcript containing
your address, issued within the past two years

So basically, my EAD card, SSN card, college id and college transcript satisfied all requirements. 6-pt system link: http://www.state.nj.us/mvc/pdf/Licen...posterpint.pdf

My application was self-filed, and DAP has been an invaluable resource to my DACA journey. I'm so grateful for this forum and am more than willing to give back with advice; let me know if anyone has questions. Good luck guys!

I went to the local SSA office and the process went really smoothly.

I gave the guy my application, DACA approval letter, EAD card, and passport.

The guy just asked me if I've ever gotton SSN before, or worked in the US before. and I said No

and that was pretty much it.. He was spending some time working on the computer and told me I should get SSN card in 7 - 10 business days!

btw. I didn't wait 10 days after I got apporoved
