Now, there will be a impeachment hearing on tuesday and likely to terminate on Wednesday. Most importantly he filed on the schedule that the vote on three bills, one of those including the DREAM Act will take place an hour after session begins on Wednesday. That was mentioned at 10:57 am today.

After that, they will continue on to taxation if it does not pass today, followed by the START Treaty, and other important bills.

ohhh man...here we go!.....lets call and hope for the best....im really nervous about this...REALLY NERVOUS

next 4 days, if I am not mistaken the vote would be this wednesday, there was quite a bit of noise after Reid announced those plans and he tried to assure them that there will be discussions before the votes. I am guessing maybe monday, or maybe he meant that the vote would be wednesday night an hour before the session ended.... but impeachment apparently takes more then a day so I don't know what's going to happen.

I thought tax cus for the middle class ppl passed. If not, as far as I know, both Republicans and Democrats mutually agree to the issue. I could be wrong, anyway.

I wish the vote is on Wednesday tho' because at first it was like on 11/22 and then 11/29, and 12/3 and now next week Wednesday. =.= If this gets delayed later than 12/17(Senate Christimas Recess), I would be very disappointed.

dude... don't fall into the lies, the democrats want the tax cuts for the middle class people. besides, consider the disappearing middle class, I highly doubt you will find many making in the 200-250k range, which is the bill that democrats supported and tried to push through with all their might, giving a tax cut on the first 250k of taxable income. republicans wanted the tax break on the entire income, that costs a huge amount of money for people that probably don't need them and will most likely put it in an interest earning savings accounts of some sort.

They even proposed compromising and giving tax cuts up to 1 million dollars which would have covered 99.9% of all americans to the entirety of their income, multimillionaires and billionaires still benefit from both measures up to that amount of income, the latter up to 1 million they would get a tax break and then the rest would be tax about 2% higher.

In order to try and maintain somewhat to this topic here is my perception and thoughts as far as I can gather from the series of elections I have in a rather unhealthy manner perhaps followed too intently... (I am on a leave of absence and have nothing else to do, and I live in Miami, can't get around easily much less consider public transportation as a means of getting around, it...is....really....bad...)

If the democrats pass the bush tax cuts they risk adding hugely to the deficit while not doing much to stimulate the economy, but then the republicans might be more likely to vote in the affirmative for the DREAM Act (at least the ones that we think might vote in that manner). If they don't pass the bush tax cuts, the republicans might not like it and take it out on other democrat backed bills, chief among them the DREAM Act, they already denied benefits for the unemployed because they could not appropriate $56 billion over 10 years, while they want to appropriate $700 billion over 10 years to the super rich in tax cuts.

I hope Reid lives up to his reputation of being a great political strategist because we will need one hell of a strategy to satisfy everyone.

Ok so you'r saying now that the tax cut bill didnt pass...the republicans will most likely take it against us (The Dream Act).....I see it as a give and take thing between them.

If the democrats support the republicans on this matter they might give us some votes for the DA. but I dont see that happening anymore since the tax cut bill didnt pass.

the tax cut bill has not passed yet, the one that was for the first 250k got I think 56 yays, and the one that was for the first $1 million dollars got I 53 yays and 37 nays.... 10 senators did not even vote for the latter version...

I don't know if the bush tax cuts as far as extending to the full taxable income to infinity passed or did not pass. As far as I am concerned the vote only took place on the two amendments proposed, then they went to give a bunch of speeches and the senate session ended and the senate will tackle the bush tax cuts for everyone on another day. Then again I switched off from CSPAN2 after I got tired of their broken record practices. Republicans said they wanted tax cuts for the people that created jobs and they considered those people to be the ultra mega rich, and democrats said that the small business owners are the ones that create jobs and that the middle income was disappearing and it needed to pass the 250k amendment to secure it... they kept on saying this for several hours straight in a myriad of different charts and manners, but essentially the same thing over and over again. I switched I guess about a hour before it finished, and can't find anything about them voting for the bush tax cuts for everyone anywhere, so I take it they will vote on it another day.

The two proposals that were voted on today were the Democratic proposals. There were 4 proposals that were suppose to be voted on (as test votes), but 1 Republican Senator has an objection therefore they scrapped the 2 Republican proposals and went with the 2 that the Dems want. It was a last minute thing that happened and it appears that even McConnell didn't know about it until Reid called him (from McConnell's own office) and notified him. So this just delays tax cuts even more.
