I don't see a bill passing just because of a potential shutdown. There isn't a bill that has a majority of support from side. Don't forget the tax bill was passed last minute even with writing on the bill. The last we want is some clause like immigration rights waived added to the last minute.

Trump became president January 20

Shutdown January 20 will leave a bad legacy on trump. People will remember his first year as the year he caused a shutdown. As much I want a bill asap, a shutdown would be a sweet victory to show trump how much of a moron he is.
