This is one part of the puzzle. What is happening right now has nothing to do with this.

Uscis received my application on 4/11/2016 and I completed my biometric on 5/4/2016. I will be expiring on 9/15/2016. I have not received an approval on elis. I spoke to a tier 2 agent last week and I was told my background is still pending. Tier2 told me they were going to flag my case. At this rate I think Im going to expire and lose my job.

I know, it's just to reiterate that there are comprehensive problems with ELIS, but USCIS refuses to do anything to alleviate them.

Is there a way to check if the background checks (not just biometrics) have been completed, did you ask Tier 2 agent directly about the checks or they gave that as a reason for not being approved yet?
Also, wonder if the application is put in line for review before checks have been completed or if the pending checks is only known when officer is reviewing the case for making a decision.

79 Days and No Biometrics yet...

I heard some people waited 150+ days.

The officer didn't know why the background was still pending. He said I should hear back from them in 3 to 5 days. He said someone reviewed my case on the 15 th of this month but they didn't make a decision. I spoke to a tier 2 officer about a month ago and he told me the same thing that my background was pending. The agent a month ago told me the background check is done by a third party and they don't know how long it takes.

Been watching this thread everyday to see if any updates on similar cases. I check my USCIS APP and myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov everyday to see updates. Yesterday and today, myaccount.uscis started forwarding me to myuscis.dhs.gov. (Hopefully, that means they're updating?). When I am able to log on with the one-time code, I am able to see the 2 I-797C notices they sent me.

Here's my timeline -

I'm from California. Nebraska Service Center is processing mine. As of 8/21/16, I am 125 days from receipt date, and 14 days to EAD expiration.

Second Renewal
EAD Expiration: 9/4/2016
Scheduled Bios: May 12
Walked in to Bios: May 3 2016
My app receipt date: April 18 2016

As of August 11 2016, the date for Nebraska Center is March 16 2016. And I applied between the Feb 14 to May 14 delayed renewal request dates.
