You have such a similar timeline to mine! awful you're still waiting. have you done any service requests or infopass? I had to do multiple SRs when my AOS EAD didnt come months after the notice, spoke to a few officers on their service line.

I would say definitely renew EAD through AOS since it's free and easy. Dont know if it precludes you from renewing through DACA too, maybe worth a try? did the lawyer say what happens if you submit applications for both EADs separately?

You are protected from deportation as long as your AOS is pending.

DACA is useful if there's any chance your AOS could be denied. You would know if you have a strong case, but these days you also never know, so renewing DACA may be worth the extra piece of mind

This is the norm now. My lawyer even told me that it's what he's done for the majority of cases that need ROC. Force USCIS to do them simultaneously. It's ridiculously backed up right now.

Question for you guys. Been hearing about people getting arrested when they go to their interview. Is this true? Have you heard of this happening a lot or did you not have any problems?

As long as you have your daca things activate, you should be fine on the date of interview.

(Thanks Swim for pointing me in the right direction)

Hey guys.

I recently got married and the wife and I will begin the AOS process soon. We got married last Friday and we've been proactive about getting things ready.

So far we...

1. Picked up our official marriage license at the County (yesterday)
2. Opened a joint bank account at the local CU (today)
3. She went to the SS office to request a new card, she took my name (today)
4. She's going into the DMV next Monday to get her CA Real ID Drivers license with updated name
5. We have a copious amount of pictures dating back from Aug 2015 when we started dating. She saved all of our boarding passes to places we've traveled, and we've traveled around the country extensively. Probably around 30 boarding passes each. She also created a scrapbook of our adventures and has added to it periodically.
6. Added her to my insurance (yesterday) since my benefits are much better.

Is there anything else we should have?
-How do we prove we live together. She hasn't forwarded her mail to my place yet
-We don't have kids (yet)

Any tips/advice would be greatly and immensely appreciated, or if you could point me to a good post/page with more info.

Thanks again!

Congrats on the marriage! If you have any retirement accounts, name each other as beneficiaries. If you have any receipts related to wedding stuff, they can be helpful but not necessary. Any wedding cards you received would be good to include. Any pictures as a couple with friends, esp those who may be writing affidavits.

Good point on the retirement accounts. We’ll have those updated. I added her as my beneficiary for my life insurance.

Also a good point on the wedding cards. We received quiete a few and we do have plenty of pictures with friends that we’ve introduced to each other to over the years.

Thanks again brother (or sister)

Anyone here who has their "conditional" green card for almost 2 years- already begin the process of getting the "conditional" remove?? I would like to hear your experience please.

My Green Card is set to expire by February 2019- so i have to submit my applications within the 90 days before its expired.

The earliest i can submit is mid November... Im afraid with the holidays around the corner, they wont be able to process the "Removal conditional" until my card expired.

Will they extend the conditional if that's the case?

Thanks!
