We need to have patience. You are forgetting that there are 300 million people in the USA, all with very specific issues that they feel "can't wait". What about the people that are literally dying waiting for health care reform...I think we need to be realistic and not angry and demanding. The reality is that every country has a right to say who it lets in and who it does not, and this won't change even after the Dream Act gets passed, so keep it in perspective. Live your life the best that you can in the meantime, and consider ourselves lucky because DA will pass very soon (come on people, everyone is saying 2010 will be it).

Jeez guys, way to deviate from the main topic.

As devoted as Durbin is to our cause, his talk is cheap until we see something actually happen in 2010.
Well maybe he should just call it quits then. You guys sound like such ingrates. At least he's doing something. He can't pass this alone. But he isn't giving up. And his actions have more than spoken for themselves.

Anyway, good of Durbin to say that. Yes, things are moving slow; but he has always been there for us. His vocal support and his hard work for DREAM is wonderful.

The Dream Act is a simple piece of legislation that should be put up for a vote wihtout objection, period. As I stated before, if it were brought up on the floor, they would be forced to vote on it, and my belief is that it would pass. If only they could grow a pair and have the courage of conviction. The do-nothing senators need to follow Nancy Pelosi and take a stand.

The world doesn't revolve around immigration, you know.

Dtrt09 was probably referring to the fact that she is unabashedly liberal in her actions such as when she said that there would be no health care reform in the House unless it included a public option.
