My brother works for the United Nations. As a tip, pick up a foreign language (if you don't already speak one). You get paid extra for every language in which you're fluent.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know they paid extra, but I knew picking up one or more foreign languages would help me. Right now I'm learning Spanish and Japanese. A friend of the family (who wants to do the same thing) told me to learn Mandarin. But I've been told that after years of learning, you still may not be fluent in it. -shrugs-

Yes, you get paid after you pass a fluency test. It sucks though, because my brother knows how to speak Tagalog (Filipino), but it's not one of the listed languages. In my opinion, Mandarin is probably the best language to take up right now. It's one of, if not the fastest growing language in the world. The Chinese economy is blossoming into a superpower, and the U.S. will continue trades with them for decades to come.

Living in California, I wish I still spoke Spanish. I lost it after taking 3 years of it in high school. To all the youngsters out there, take (or continue taking) a foreign language in college. In today's global economy, having a second or third or fourth language is priceless.

Also, for those who want to learn Spanish, it's an extremely easy language to learn. If you had some classes in high school, I'm sure its still in your memory..you just have to freshen it by getting back to studying it.
