The only thing that truly frustrates me is not being able to apply for FAFSA, that and not being able to travel.

I have a drivers license, go to college, hold a good job, have beautiful girlfriend and a wonderful family. It saddens me to hear about how bad some of you have it.

All said, I would give my situation a four, because I know my parents could have better jobs if they were legal residents and I simply can't stand that.

I would say about 1.
I don't have DL nor SSN but I have my family with me as well as great friends I can depend on.
I do get in-state tuition and a grant for my education so that's great as well.
And for a job, I had a great job with good pay but had to quit last week because it's about 30 min drive from my house and my parents were getting too tired from driving back and forth everyday.
But I don't blame them and now I'm looking for a job that's a lot closer to home so it won't be such a burden on my parents.
My social life isn't bad at all either.
Since beginning of this semester, I've gotten to know a lot of great friends and I've also been very much involved with a great organization at my school.

I would have to say a 2 or maybe a 3.
I am blessed to have found amazing family members and one very supportive friend that completely sympathizes with my situation. also, i am blessed to have been given the opportunity to go to a prestigious university w/out having to pay much. but at the same time, i feel that my opportunities are very limited cause of my situation, and at times this brings me down a bunch when i see friends working, being able to travel back to their homes w/out fear of deportation, etc. but i try to remain optimistic and just appreciate the beauty of life and the great things that God has given me.

I can't really give a number out. If, I were to rate my situation it will only prove that I have given up already. (In my opinion)

I'm a different type of person. When I sleep I don't dream, I see my future. I have big plans, and I plan to follow through. I can't fail, because failure is not an option. I do however, accept mistakes and learn from them.

I am currently in a state without any relatives. I am alone. Sometimes I get depressed, but then I remember that others have come before me and have achieved the impossible. I stand with them. I used to be naive, but now I'm selective in the words I speak. Knowledge is something that makes me happy.

I'm currently in Texas. I plan to start a few businesses here very soon. I'm 19 years old, a male citizen from Mexico, with an iron heart polished in America.

I am the person who I am now, because of what I've been through. Am I perfect? No, perfection is unattainable.

Thinking negative, only makes you walk backwards.

I carry two things with me at all times to make me remember things happen, you either keep on walking or sit down. I sit down sometimes.

When I go to sleep, I see a bright future, not only for me, but for my fellow dreamers as well.

I must admit, I am weird. Everyone who knows me knows that.

Believe in yourself, create-actions towards what you want, and in time you will attain it.

i would say.. 8 for my situation.. but i do believe with these experiences..

it will make me even stronger 1000000000%+.. i agree with jothesh2 that we all will have a bright future someday.

if we never ever give up, preserver, follow our dreams and take action.

2. I lack the essentials things like most you guys, my friends don't know, I am jobless and at this point social life is non existent outside the realm of the internet. I wish I could be dating and doing the social/other things a guy my age should be indulging myself in. I'm 20 BTW and I live in Miami, And to top it all off i need about 3k to cover medical costs. The only things I've ever really enjoyed like video games are starting to become the things I dislike the most. I can't wait until June 15.

Thank you all for the replies, some of us are truly blessed and should definitely take advantage of everything we have.

Although I have SSN, DL, in-state tuition and couple of buddy to drink sometimes, being all alone sucks. Haven't seen my mother in 7 years.

I guess that could be true to some extent. My parents are separated....actually they just got divorced and I've been living with my mother for about four years or so. I got to my father's apartment every weekend to spend time with him and to be honest, I love my parents to death. However, you know how most of us can't wait to turn 18 to move out and live our own life? that happens to me too. There are so many times when I my mother and I just don't understand each other and I've been wanting to move out and be on my own SO BAD. The relationship between my father and I is great, I'm guessing because I don't see him everyday and I wish it could be the same way with my mother. I'm not trying to make it sound like my mother and I don't like each other because right now we are fine but you know, there are those days when we don't understand each other.
