I agree and I heard that Germany is great, since it has a HUGE US military base, but again the language.

ETA: I was told it was great because it was more like here than other countries.

My biggest fear is the 10yr ban. If it wasn't for the ban I think I may have left a while ago. But how do you not see ur family and friends for that long? I know that most of them will be able to visit me but still its not the same.

Im a EU citizen as well and think going to Europe and making a life out there would be kind of interesting - but what if something happens to someone here when out out there and I'm not allowed to come into the states!!

Anybody knows how the ban works with countries with a visa waiver? Does it make a difference or am I sol regardless...?

Let's move together.

And yes that ten year ban kills me..the 3 year ban would be much more acceptable.

What country are you a citizen of?

I have 2 backup options that I've been thinking about for a while. I'm a citizen of Portugal and Australia. But the 10 year ban is what's stopping me from going. That and the idea that if I move to Australia I would have to start from scratch with no family whatsoever there. =/ Tough decisions await.

Australia? Lucky Mofo.

Are any of your relatives legal? I've always thought if I left I can meet my family/friends in other countries.. Like Bahamas, its next the Florida where all my people are at. And most of my family is legal.

I'd LOVE to have Australia as a back up plan.

As much as it's great it does have a small problem. I'd have to be financially stable to move there, seeing as how I have no family or friends that live there chances of instantly getting a job or having a place to stay for the first month would be slim.

UCLA has a very good support network. IDEAS at UCLA is a group for undocumented students- speaking to them could help you with the school and financial issues. I havea friend who just graduated CC also and is planning to go to UCLA- she is spending the summer trying to fundraise.

If I had a place like Australia as a back up, I would have left a long time ago. I know a guy who had CANADA as a backup plan as sat at home for years. WTF????

Let's do it !! But I wont be able to leave for another year or so (unless I get tossed out). With all the "this year is the year for dream" talk I went to grad school - so i think I might as well try to finish. If I don't, anybody know how transferring to a school in EU would work? Would I have to take a lot of classes over again?

Yeah, the 10yr ban sucks and it's kind of funny how it has the opposite effect. Instead of people leaving they remain here and stay illegal. The ban should be done away with or decreased to 1-2 years for dreamers. I think there is a way different thought dynamic at work for someone who was brought over here under age and stayed past 18 than someone that comes here as an adult.
