It's my hope — I don't expect it — but it's my hope that we can do it this year
Keep on calling, we can still get it done this year.

He clearly said that he would definitely vote for the dream act after the tax cuts and CR has been dealt with.

it doesnt matter if senate republicans decide to bring up dream act. even if they do, it wont see the light of day in the house. good luck getting it through Rep. King.

-4 years minimum military

-for those not doing military grant student visas

-fine us

10 years non immigrant status, 5 years LPR

biometrics to doh

-no sponsership etc

either way i do not think they will do it. If they do do it it'll just be to say "we did it" and make latinos feel even more betrayed by dems.
I am actually ok with this since i do meet these requirements since they sound very strict and enforcement is one of the THings that the GOP likes. The less the better since I mean i want the house DA version to pass this year but many argue its too broad. A 13 yr pathway to citizenship that is not even guaranteed since one can screw up. 2 yrs of college or military service does sound ok but many argue that you won't do much in those 2 yrs. But what i am confused about is that; I know that they will bar in state tuition . But will it be up to the states to decide whether or not to receive in state tuition. or will we be barred from it completely. Lastly what about the states that currently do offer in state tuition.

focus on that next year. what is wrong with an age limit of 25? people can rent cars when they turn 25 and the irs stops counting people as dependents. those over 21 can do anything they want other than renting a car. they are adults and not minors. and if we are going to throw the founders and the inspiration of the movement under the bus, let's throw others too.

This really pisses me off because why not pass it now and move on to the next issue instead of holding the whole thing hostage for another year.

Personally if I was a senator I would be annoyed to have to deal with Dreamers all over again since we are known to make about 90,000 calls a day.

I know how you feel but this is just if it does not pass Which i hope it does. this year since many of us are just in limbo. I hope that it comes true now & it gets signed but if it doesnt and they make it stricter I will be ok with it as well as long as we get our DA passed

From listening to what he said, seems he doesn't even know what is in the house bill. He did say that he would be happy to vote for the dream act if Harry Reid brought it up after the tax cuts and the CR to fund the government.

Listen to the whole thing and judge for yourself. I'm sure we can get some more republicans on board when they realize the house version is a lot stricter.

That whole "secure border bs" will never happen and thats the reason why they are telling people they will approve an reform once they secure our borders....The GOP "plans" to aprove an immigration legislation when not even a bird can fly across the border which we know will never happen!!

Also wasn't the Dream Act written by Mr. Hatch? He played a big part in writing it and he is a Republican. So what the heck is he talking about by saying a republican written bill?
