It would be a loss for America to let go of so many people they actually need.

As a dreamer I sense the reality all the times. We have the passions and commitment to work hard and contribute positively for this nation. But guess what? There are also millions of US legal residents and citizens capable to bring prosperity. Each year we get thousands of H1B visas coming in for short-term working. Some of them stayed eventually.

The American public doesn't really think we are that special. Some of us, however, have the gift talents. If you listened to Durbin's speech last night, those he mentioned on the floor had an extraordinary background and talents. One guy is fluent in four languages and another guy has three degrees in his pocket.

What about us? We graduate with a degree. But the legals are capable of doing the same too.

However, the argument is not about how much we can bring; but how do we deal with the millions of undocumented aliens that are part of the economy????

Didn't think about that. Nice argument.

Exactly. We have to make the public aware that kicking us out is dumb. Soon or later, we have to be legalize because the undocumented are already integral of this country.
We get paid and we consume goods.

People ignore the values of us, even though we are illegals. Many of us, in fact, pay taxes like everyone else do. When we consume a good, we paid sale tax. When we buy a product, we are helping the flow of cash.

Either legalize us, or we will continue using the resources under the shallow.

Dream becomes Reality, I didn't oppose your idea. I was only stating the obvious. Public that gets brainwashed can careless about us, because they know there are millions of legal good residents here.

But it's the US' lost when they deport us, because the tax payers have been paying for our education (like Durbin said, it's the State's responsibility to provide educations), and that we are are already part of this economy. Economy is always population dependence.

This would be a very selfish act.

There is a lot of people who believe that if they ignore us and force us further into the shadows that we will eventually give up, pack up and leave. This thread seems to prove a small minority would leave but don't do this, at least do it quietly. The right would make a huge fuss about this and would plaster the event all over foxnews and every site, reassuring them that they have a great plan. All you would be doing is hurting the ones staying behind.

All my family's here and legal, I love it here BUT not at the expense of my own happiness. I'm tired of waiting year after year for nothing. With a degree from the US you can make a lot out of your life, and I'm not willing to give one more day to a place that had ridiculous immigration clauses all over the place that eventually led to me (1) aging out of my family petition because I'm all of a sudden not an "immediate relative" to my own parents, and (2) one that still won't give me a chance to earn residency the hard way either.

I have way too much to offer than to waste one more second of my life here, and once I leave here, I will NEVER return to the US. If the US wants to keep the lazy people that take advantage of their system and are not willing to work to earn anything, then I say good luck to them cause all they'll have left will be a generation of people that feel they are entitled to being pampered by their government.

Kuryaki has a good point, it's because we're good kids that just try to quietly ask for support that's why no one pays us any mind. I'm done begging for a chance to prove myself "worthy" of permanent residency, it's clear that they don't see us as worthy. I'm seriously considering relocating to my home country.
I come from a crappy ass country where even a move to Mexico is a step up. Right now I'm working on finishing up my degree, and once that's done and there's no legalization, then I'm hauling ass to where ever that will have me.

If enough illegal immigrants just got up and left or self checked into ICE all at the same time... then they would cripple a few industries and plenty of areas in the US will turn into ghost towns, losing huge sums of revenue for their state.

Won't happen though. GOP knows that won't happen, and will let the situation stay for as long as they can until their own constituency actually says something.

DADT was repealed and I don't know of any gay/lesbian Dreamers. But I'm sure if Gaga knew some of these dreamers, then maybe she can rally for us in the future.
