At the present moment, this is just an idea. There is no assurance that this will happen. I have been advocating for the Dream Act for years and wouldn't hesitate to apply if it passes.

E-verify is different though. It would mean passing a law that would make life harder for our parents for a personal gain. As long as this is a THOUGHT I will make sure the Dream Act doesn't pass like this. If it passes, I will not hesitate to apply for it.

THE IDEA IS WRONG,

By the way, you didn't read the quote right...

I believe, my mom was actually the one making money. Desperately wanting the American dream when he first visited here in 1992, he saved up money in an effort to move us all here to American without any real plan. Being the loyal wife my mom is she followed my dad's wishes and ambitions. My Dad is an abusive man with a God complex as well. To make a long story short VERY BAD IDEA. We should have moved to Canada or Australia but my ill informed Dad thought it was a stupid idea. My mom would probably be still a dentist and I'd probably be a spoiled brat attempting to follow her footsteps.
You know choking the chicken

I feel for you man.. No matter how smart a lady is sometimes they seem to just be weak against the man they love...

Sorry you're dad is an abusive nut job...

I want DREAM Act to pass but it feels really dirty to pass it over the livelihood of my family. It's very conflicting. I don't want my siblings to lose their jobs and see my nieces and nephews starving.

Its like asking, do you want your own happiness or do you want your family's happiness? You can only have one. I want both. I feel bad if I don't have the other.

Happygolucky trust me this bill is all bark and no bite the republicans are not serious.. They can't be, since their high power constituencies depend on the labor.. Your siblings are going to be fine as long as they keep doing a great job...

The bill says it's for new hires only... Even then it will take a while to be in affect..

Of course you're going to be worried about your family but guess what? You're going to be legal and you can work for them.

Would you rather have E-verify on its own? Democrats and Republicans support it. The DA and AG jobs was not going to be attached in the first place. We're not even sure if it is going to be attached and everyone is b*tching about it already!

What is wrong with you people? Can't you see AN E-verify bill is bound to pass sometime given the current political climate? They keep on popping up with anti-immigration bills in the state level! We don't have a very good reputation guys and with the ignorance and misinformation going around, I doubt that will change any time soon.

The E-verify bill is supposed to be a stand alone. Would you rather have treasure with dirt on it or dirt with no treasure at all?

I prefer not to be empty handed. Wouldn't you? A window of opportunity just opened would you let it close on you?

We already have E-Verify in AZ, so it's whatever let them pass it with the DREAM Act.

Erik your parents are here because they wanted a future for you. They can make it outside the US no matter how big a shithole your country is and I doubt they'd be any less happy than they are now, having to work until they die. If you think full blown amnesty will ever come again you're delusional. The US is finally stepping up enforcement of immigration law to the level of other countries
