honestly my goal has been to marry a citizen but i'm just not cut out for it...i am very bad with girls and i put most of it on my status
No but I think the original Dream Act will pass. We know Obama is going to win the re-election and GOP will get desperate so they have no choice but to pass the DA. Patience is the key here.

I'm not afraid. But I'm not compromising everything that I am for a paper.

Then don't complain about how much of a hard time you have in achieving your American dreams and this and that. Don't speak for those who are willing to sacrifice everything for the sake of achieving their goals. Peace out.

I'm not complaining, you are. Nothing in life comes easy so I'm treating this as a bump along the way. I may worry about certain things in life, but doesn't everyone? You've got a lot more success supporting the DA as opposed to the Arms Act.

Yes, I have a more difficult life compared to my USC friends. But as long as I'm able to eat and afford things I need in life I'm good. Most of the people in the world doesn't have 75% of what we have yet we complain. Have you eaten today?

I don't know how you guys think, but i always wanted to be in the military or a firefighter. I also want a degree in the fitness-nutrition field. Sitting in an office is not for me.

I'm comfortable living. If you plan ahead you can have a bright future. This is still the land of opportunity.

Do what you want to do. Don't take advice from anyone here unless its on how to get into college and apply for scholarships. Just because a dreamer could not take it and went back does not mean you can't.

I know plenty of people undocumented working, making money, driving. Don't go back to a country you don't remember. Especially if your used the the U.S. They don't teach in English. I don't know about you but I had a hard time in Advanced Spanish because it was completely taught in Spanish. If you don't completely understand your native language its going to kick you in the a** when you try to study for other subjects.

Just my two cents.

Spanish is not that hard. Just like earning a degree, learning a second or third language takes time.

It's not about dreamers who can and cannot take it, it's about looking for opportunities where opportunities are available.

Most dreamers don't have high paying jobs and hate having to pay thousands of dollars when their cars get impounded.

We all want to have a good quality of life, but not all are willing to wait forever or be treated like shit just make big bucks.

Most immigration lawyers will tell you time is on your side for many law conditionals but for what? You trade 10 years of being out of status for what? Nothing, you get nothing unless you fill many other conditions and even so the current law just doesn't benefit the illegal immigrant.

You get a 10 year ban, who cares? 10 years is nothing while you building and making a life for yourself. Go get a degree, get married, get to drive a car freely with your own DL. Being here out of status is like being on a home arrest if you don't have car, you outcast yourself from your friends because of your status, you can't get a decent job, etc.

My two cents: Just leave now!

Lou
I am more leaning toward this.

I have a car but having different state license make me afraid in every place that require a form of ID, let alone who knows if someone crashes my car.

Also when your stuffs got stolen, you can't really report to police.

It is amazing how I am physically "healthy" without health insurance. But who knows what can happen? Any bad injury or cancer can happen.

This is mentally wearing me out and my family is against going back because according to them, this place is so much better place and have more opportunity than my home country, South Korea. But I am starting to disagree lately as all my datings turn out not good (good for those who can easily hook up with girls. But I don't think that is my type. I am more study and research type.)

But I so agree with Lou that I really lose nothing for going back because I will not be a second citizen and I will be building my skill and friendship during the 10 year ban. I have nothing to lose indeed.

Once I thought, "what if DA passes after I leave? I would feel so ripped and all my waits" But I like how Lou said "Don't turn back."

I am also in the same situation as OP. But I do not want to potentially sacrifice my life for these politicians who hold us at hostage for god how long. We are only useful to them when election time comes. IMHO, ARMS Act will not likely have enough support from Republicans and many Democrats will shoot it down when it comes to vote.

I have gone through these same situations over and over last 4 years but I think it looks better for me to go back to my home country and plan to live in different countries like Canada, France, or Sweden. Of course, meantime I will have to save money and get my studies done. I really envy those who did leave already at the end of 2010 when DA struck down.

So I am thinking(but 90% sure) of going back to my home country from as early as this spring semester ends to definitely by the end of this year. Well, unless Dream Act happens in the meantime, which I highly doubt.
