So I called the number they gave me at the counter and asked if they had verified my documents. The rude ass lady said "obviously not, if you haven't received it". Then I was like then what do i do. She said well we haven't gotten your documents from the dmv office you went to. She told me I could send them my documents so they could send them to the government for verification. I''ll send them my documents tomorrow and call them next week to see the status. Anyone having the same problem?

Is this because you went in straight for a driver's license and not a permit? Because it would not make sense to hand you a permit and then have to verify your status when you apply for your license.

U can't go straight for a license. In cali you need a permit then comes the license. I have done some research and the DMV does the same for international students and people with visas. I guess they need to verify who you are.

That's odd! I obtained my provisional license 10/3, the rep never mentioned anything about doc verification! I'm still waiting for the actual dl card

I wonder if I'm the only one. I mean when i went to get my permit they never mentioned anything. When I got the provisional license she told me if could take up to two months because they needed to verify the documents I provided. Im going to fax them the documents tomorrow. By the way, congrats to the people that passed the test.
