To take a driving exam, the vehicle you provide must:
• Be a properly licensed vehicle equipped for the driver’s license classification you are
seeking.
• Comply with Secretary of State vehicle condition standards.
• Be properly insured. Proof of insurance must be provided prior to the exam.
• Display valid front and rear Illinois license plates and a valid registration sticker. If
the vehicle is registered outside of Illinois, it must meet the registration requirements of the respective state.
• Be driven to the facility by a driver who has a valid driver’s license/permit

Well you stand in line after passing your written/visions tests, then your driver has to bring the car so the DMV person inspects the car and checks insurance, once he/she gives the OK, you then step into the car and begin the road test with him/her, while your driver waits at the DMV for you return, and is instructed to park the car in the parking lot.

Five year driver licenses are given to us and they are indistinguishable from any regular driver license.

I got my Illinois driver license today. You get issued the driver license on site. There is no waiting in mail or driver permit if you are over 21. You walk out with an actual driver license valid for five years. Now that I have made that clear.

The test is simple first vision then you pay then written then drive exam then you get your card. The written one is simple multiple choice around 30 questions about half true or false. The only thing is make sure you study your signs. I got four wrong on that. I also only tricky thing while driving was they asked to park and showed them how to park uphill. Besides that everything is simple and common sense. Good luck

No more driving in fear today is a good day I can't stop looking at it.

Did you drive to the DMV by yourself or someone drove you there?

If your user name "90" suggest you were born in 1990 and you happened to attend joliet west then we probably crossed each other in hallways... Super small world
