Will travelers from U.S. territories need to present a passport to enter the United States?

U.S. Citizens and Lawful Permanent Residents (LPR's) who travel directly between parts of the United States, which includes Guam, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Swains Island and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), without touching at a foreign port or place, are not required to present a valid U.S. Passport or U.S. Green Card. However, it is recommended that travelers bring a government issued photo ID and copy of birth certificate.

Hawaii is a U.S. state and therefore passport documentation requirements do not apply.

Questions about requirements for domestic travel should be directed to Transportation Security Administration (TSA). TSA can be reached at 1-866-289-9673.

we are NOT permanent residents...........so I don't know how this would apply to us. I would suggest NOT to fly outsides of the 50 states. The "Temporary status" in most DACA IDs might rise suspicious.

However, if you manage to get an ID with out that I don't see why not as I know friends and family who have gone to Puerto Rico with just their state IDS

The 50 United States [Including Alaska and Hawaii] should be absolutely no problem in flying. We don't know for sure on US outlying possessions based on individuals with approved Deferred action. The general idea that most say that "it would be fine" if you just use your State ID or DL for travel to and from outlying possessions to the United States is NOT something any individual I think should attempt until there is clarification either from their own legal representation or a quick call to CBP for inquiry based on their own circumstance!

@Pianoswithoutfaith,Thanks for the further clarification and just to add to this I read a while that USVI does have some sort of Immigration inspection in addition Puerto Rico DOES have CBP officers sometimes monitoring mainland US bound flights so the risk is there if you're willing to take and understand it.

All you need is a US state ID/DL to travel to any US territory. You will not be deported since you are granted deferred action. US Territories are NOT foreign countries.

but dont take my word for it, read what an immigration lawyer has to say in regards to DACA approved DREAMers traveling to a US Territory
http://www.avvo.com/legal-answers/ca...t--923968.html

hope that puts a rest to all the inquiries.
