My name was updated today! Did this happen to anyone? - Page 3

i got an update on the 28th,

On December 28, 2012, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I765, APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION.

I dont really understand if this thread is related to my issue but if someone can tell me alittle about what to expect with my case... it would b greatly appreciated.
I got my EAC on the 8th of Dec (I believe) well when I received it, I seen they had my last name wrong on my card. They used my maiden last names instead of my married last name.
So I called my attorney and they told me in order for them to fix that I would have to resend another application (as if I am sending ANOTHER petition for DACA) and wait for the process all over again.
Well this didnt seem right to me so I called uscis myself and told them my issue and was told that they have sent the request for someone to review my case. And I should wait till sometime like 15 of January to call back if I havent heard from them.

HAS ANYONE HAD TO DO THIS?

This Happened to me right before I got approved, on my application I didn't put my Maternal last name which is in my Birth Certificate and Passport. For example my full name being John Jay Doe Rodriguez when I applied I only put John Jay Doe. Howeverl when I went in for my BIOMETRICS the lady added "Rodriguez" so i got that same you guys got. it only means that USCIS updated your info. I got apporved a ferw hours later. Good luck!

Good to know I also sent my application without my maternal name, I put my full name under other known names. Also, the lady at ASC added it in the form. So I guess ill be expecting that same message you got

I got an update status to my 821D saying that my address was changed. At the same time my I765 was approved. I never requested an address change so I am calling to see what that is about.

Got texts and an email this afternoon about my case being updated. Turns out it's the same "name updated" message (though I'm still listed under "Initial Review"). Not sure what it means, but I hope it's at least a good sign that my case will be processed soon! I will update if I hear anything else from them!

why do they update the name? was there a typo?

I just got approved!! No idea about why I received the "name update" message or what it means, if anything besides a technical glitch, as some people seem to think. Since the emails didn't address me by any name, I'm not sure what name they have on file for me or if it's different from the name they used on my Biometrics appointment letter. But I'm so happy to be approved and can't wait for the card to arrive! For me, the total process from start to finish was just over 3 months.
