For those in NJ, it is best to take a road test in Lodi. I hear the course is very easy to pass there if you just know the basics of driving and the space for parallel parking is GIGANTIC.

I have a road test on April 2nd.

Yes Eatontown and Lodi are supposed to be two easiest to pass. I found parallel parking space to be adequate, but road was tight and you k-turn out of the spot, so you have to be careful. Girl taking test after me had this tiny smart car from some driving school - there's no way you couldn't not pass parallel parking using that.

Good luck Moizy!

To kill time, he made me drive literally straight for a long time and I feel like he didn't adequately teach me the turning and parking manuevers properly. I failed my first road test horribly. Then, I had to get a friends help because there was no way I was going to pay for additional classes at the driving school. My friend actually made me sweat at a parking lot and I almost puked the way he was teaching me the turning. I spent almost an hour making the number 8 with the car in an empty parking lot. I passed my second attempt in flying colors. So, if you're going to go to the driving school, I recommend you ask as many questions as you can. Make the instructor teach you what you need to learn. You must be vocal and don't be afraid even though he/she may not be patient. Tell him/her that this is your first time driving and have some patience with you. Just relax and learn..Good luck.
I agree with you 2Face, it is extremely important to emphasize to the driving instructor that they NEED to teach you what you need to know in order to pass the Road Test. Be firm about the number of classes that you are willing to take if not SOME instructors could play games and not teach you what you need to know within a fair amount of time. Also in addition to taking about 10 hrs of driving classes, one of my siblings that has had a driver's license for years also helped me learn as well, that way I was a little anxious (as everyone usually feels) but most importantly well prepared for my Road Test.

thanks for the input guys, the only reason I ask about the driving school is because my dad has an out of state license and I know I can't practice unless the license is from here. I had a friend teach me and she agreed but now she's just blowing me off. I don't know who to ask anymore, so I'm just going to risk it and learn with my dad.

Taking my written test tomorrow at Eatontown. Heard it's pretty tricky, anyone have any advice for the NJ written tests? I've been through the manual once and done several practice tests online.

Practice tests online helped me a lot. Know some common fines such as driving without insurance and drinking & driving. Read each question carefully, take your time, and if you don't know an answer, press skip ( it will come back at the end). The computer stops you once you get 40 questions right. Good luck, most questions are common sense, but there are tricky ones.

What ID did you bring to the road test? When I got my NJ permit, I used my college diploma to fulfill the 6 points, but it was kinda silly lugging that around. I was a little confused because my instructor said to bring EAD and SS but that doesn't sound like enough.

1. When the student was driving. I was seated on the backseat. I SAW the truck on the other opposite lane from us flip over. after a wide turn.LITERALLY FLIPPED OVER! The moment I saw that happen, I called 911 right away. I wanted to get off the car and help the man out becauses he was banging on his windowshield. But I couldnt. We had to go, but good thing the other drivers stopped and helped out the man.

2A ROAD TEST! WOW! I was junk nervous. FOR REAL. I went to Rahway,NJ and the course is very small. The lady said should turn a lot "FASTER" Its raining/hailing w.e . So I was kinda traumatized after seeing that truck flip over....
2B I did my parallel parking. I came in between the cones too far so what i did I get out the spot and re do it . AFTER THAT! I had to do parking downhill. WTHECK! I didnt see it coming. But yeah i failed that part because I turned the wheel the wrong way. Thats the only major issue..

but.... I PASSED!! THANK YOU JESUS!!!! Thanks for all your prayers and support. NOW ! I just need a car. hehe. Sorry i took long to reply.

Actually ead, ss and permit is all they checked when I took my road test. If you pass, they give u a paper, then you get in line and get some kind of stamp on that paper. And when you take that stamped paper to get the actual license, they will ask for 6-point ID. My test was at Lodi.

OK, now I see. So I'll still be bringing what I brought before. Thanks! My test is tomorrow in Lodi, too!
