Case was denied July 29 after waiting 2 years. I only have $200 from what my mother pawned items. I only need $265 left to reapply.
What an impudent request. I am sure there are many others who cannot even apply for any benefits in the US due to their hardships and circumstances. Why does it have to be you? Post like this should be banned and immediately flagged for removal.

Immigration doesn't care if you work. They know you gotta make a living somehow.
Best of luck.

"well, I'm not going to work because that would violate my status!"
If you're undocumented and don't have a work permit you have 2 choices:
1. Work under the table - perhaps taxes are paid for it by the person helping you out, or not. At any rate, this work is probably shit work that they can't get lawful person to do anyway.

2. Mooch - whether it's family, friends, or asking strangers.

There is no other way to survive after all since we all have to eat and have a place to stay. I think most people respect #1 more.

Sorry brah, I was willing to help you until you stated this (in bold). I started working at 17 doing dirty work to save and plant myself to college until I received DACA which enabled me to obtain financial independence. Yes, I "violated" my immigration status but didn't we all in order to survive? That phrase alone seemed to create an illusion that you are lazy and pretty much naive and immature.

Your family actually had an advantage that most of us do not. You stated that your mom is a green card holder. That alone makes you luckier than the rest of us.

Again I am not being judgmental and I do feel sorry that you are suffering from a disease. I agree that you shouldn't listen to what people say about you but working is part of life and should've been automatic if you have a drive to succeed with your goals in life.

Good luck.

You're not about to violate your immigration status? You think everyone on here only started working when they got their EADs? Not to mention that the "tone" of your response leads me to believe you're just trying to take advantage of some around here.

OP I hope you get better, try to stay positive even with sickness I was working at a retail store, but if you don't want to violate the immigration laws, start recycling like I mentioned before, I need to raise funds for a kidney transplant and I had to recycle, don't get discouraged, trust me $265 is really nothing, even with a disability many people work, I know a few patients that have dialysis without legal states and the work on construction sites with cement.

When I didn't have a job, I still managed to make a little bit of money from home. Now, $265 is really not a whole lot, and it's really manageable, I used to make like $200 a month by doing little things here and there.

- Recycle, as someone stated above.
- Have a yard sale!!
- Start a blog (I still do this one! this one might take a little time because you have to build up an audience) but I get paid average of $20 a post PLUS a free whatever to review.
- Tutor! Students can come to your house or public library (I used to tutor algebra, calculus, physics, chemistry and Spanish!) you can charge whatever you want (I charge $20, and believe people would pay anything to pass a class) and it's not a physically arduous job.
- Babysit! Petsit! House sit!
- Walk dogs (make money while you exercise!)
- Coupon!!! Sometimes you can make a bit of money depending on the item. But if not, at least you're saving money!
- Do surveys online. I use Swagbucks (you can sign up here), e-rewards, Icono communities, inbox dollars, and MyPoints and others and I get about $10 a month from each site.
- I don't know if you're a guy or a girl, but also you can always go to a consignment store and get rid of clothes, shoes, and accessories you no longer wear.
-Apps like Poshmark, Ibotta and Vinted are also some great apps to make or save money

Now, it might not seem like a whole bunch, but it adds up.
I don't do it as often as I used to when I didn't have a job, but last year, doing some of these activities throughout the month, paid for all of Christmas presents. Also, sometimes they enter you into giveaways. People don't believe it's true, but I've won all kinds of things online: iPad, $100 GC to Walmart, bose earphones, movie tickets, etc. I hope you use some of this to your advantage. Good luck!
