Ya i noticed that too.

Btw, if i decide to get a widescreen monitor later on i obviously wouldn't get rid of my current one. but what is the practicality of running two monitors at once? it's something i've been seeing a lot lately and been wondering about.

You mean like these?

They would be great if you were to use one fore reading something off of, then typing on the other one. Or for hardcore photoshop, have your workspace on one and all your toolbars on the other. Or in my case they would be great for cad, so I could have all my toolbars without cluttering my work monitor. Or ou can watch a movie on one while working on the other. For gaming, I would just keep my single, or get 3 monitors for some surround gaming. Like below,

Or if you have any other specific reason where you could use them. It does seem like more and more people are using multiple monitors, but mainly because LCD's have gotten so cheap.

Edit: Btw, dual monitors tend to look better if both monitors are the same.

I have a dual monitor setup and wouldn't switch back to a single one just because it's great for productivity. If you do opt for that remember to look if your graphics card has two outputs and if they're what you need (DVI vs VGA).

^ Most new graphics cards come with DVI connectors. Any of those cards in the systems he picked come with dual DVI connectors, so he's good to go.

If your monitor is VGA (analong) the card usually comes with a DVI to VGA adapter or it can easily be had for a couple of dollars.

Btw: Do any of you people use trackballs? I started using one since I started developing wrist pains in my right wrist and I am trying to get used to it.
