I'm not at all defending DUIs but both the president, vice president, and a good chuck of congress have several of them. If it doesn't disqualify you form running for political office, then I think it shouldn't disqualify you for staying here. It's really hypocritical otherwise.
What did the 2007 CIR bill say about crimes and inelegibility (misdemeanors are considered crimes, just not to the same gravity as felonies)? I could be wrong, but I remember that it took 3 misdemeanors or 1 felony for someone to be disqualified. Am I remembering wrong?
