I agree with the idea that democrats rather not deal with CIR unilaterally. They prefer to kick the ball further down and not deal with the issue seriously. The status quo is beneficial to democrats. On the other hand, GOP has something to gain by passing CIR. What is there to gain for democrats by pushing CIR? Not much. They will continue to get Hispanic votes. I can imagine President Trump getting out of the conference room and holding a press meeting "Look, these people are here to stay, I have made a great deal where everybody is happy. We will build a wall, visa tracking will be implemented, e-verify will be everywhere. And we have to deal with those who are here, they will get a legal status, they can work, they can travel, but not citizenship. To get that they have wait 10 years".

Late 40's Dreamer (Holy Fucking shit I'm almost 50 and still dealing with this), aged out of original DACA and didn't have a chance to apply for extended DACA after Republicans killed it on the vine.
