College isn't the only answer. If you like working with your hands you can learn a trade and make a great living.

^^^ What trade do you recommend because it's almost impossible to get a well paying job over 50k without a degree. Unless the OP has connections or is willing to kiss ass a trade without a degree is unreliable.

My brother is train conductor with the Long Island Rail Road. Makes over 100K. Train conductors and Locomotive Engineers easily average over 50K and depending on location much more than that. Requirements are usually some cash handling experience and customer service. You receive your training on the job. Do the research. Don't have to take my word for it.
Elevator Mechanics make 80K easily. Electricians are also very well paid and so are locksmiths. Do your research. Whatever you do make sure is something that matches your skill set. Don't just go to college to go to college.

There are many trades that can lead to more than 50K a year. It's sad that everyone thinks college is the only solution. That being said, I have a college degree that I paid out of pocket for. Would not do it again though. Today I have a decent job but that job has absolutely nothing to do with my degree.

Mike Rowe has some great advise that I am now following: https://youtu.be/CVEuPmVAb8o
