Isn't the same judge that put the injunction on DAPA presiding over the case? They seem pretty convinced that the lawsuit will be successful.

Trump wants loyalty...
That's wishful thinking, there's no way that happens. Our only hope is Congress.

Wishful yes, implausible no. The circus, anything can happen.

Trump seems to have a lot of disdain for Sessions. Most likely, there won't be a Sessions after the recess.

Good. This will push Congress to act and give us Legal Status once and for all.

Not specifically, but your title says, if DACA is to remain, it must be through the legislative process. This is essentially what the bridge act does. Enacts DACA in the form of legislation.

This can be used politically to push Congress to act, and provides cover for them politically. No citizenship, only lawfully present.

Here is a small piece of good news in that article, though:

If DACA is to remain intact, it must be issued through the lawmaking process in Congress, not by the executive power of the president. We’ve given the Trump Administration until September 5 to agree to phase out DACA. Otherwise, our lawsuit challenging unlawful deferred-action programs currently pending in district court will be amended to challenge the renewal or issuance of any new DACA permits in the future. Once again, our request does not call on the Executive Branch to alter immigration enforcement priorities or remove any unlawfully present aliens.

If challenged and rescinded, it would not be change over night. Hopefully that will give us some time to get Dream Act/BRIDGE Act through congress, before all our DACAs expire.

He knows how hard it will be for congress to solve this issue . Don't be fooled that he endorses any type of legal status for us.
