ur not getting the point bro, y u always gotta take it to the extremes all the damn time?

everyone knows and expected that no republican will vote for it in 2010, but the dems have a super majority during that time in the senate so it was just disappointing the majority whip could not procure the 60 votes.

in comparison today, the republicans had the votes to repeal obamacare needing only 50 votes, and they expected no democrat would support it which was a given. if one is republican, they would sorely blame the repblican side bcuz they had the votes but cant keep their party in check. thats whats disappointing.

the point is doesnt matter if your republican or democrat, if u have control of all branches of govt there is no reason not to get stuff done. you should analyze and look at it from another perspective before you start a flame war.

This is a nonstarter. The DREAM Act is bipartisan—the Admin's immigration wishlist sharply divides the GOP. That’s no kind of deal.

What I've been saying. This is not a GOP wishlist, or perhaps even a Trump wishlist. He only wants the wall.

To be honest I kinda want the wall built.
If they do make a big ass wall and it becomes as iconic(positive or negative) as other US monuments, I wanna be able to point at it years from now and go
"I did that, they did that because of me."

Then give him that damn wall in exchange for legalization. Are you against this compromise? Do you have it that easy???? You do realize Trump can still come after our families right now, don't you? The compromise would at least put us in a stronger position.

The wall is a waste of money and has become a symbol of racism among the left. They ignore that without it, more drugs would easily pour through the border.

I don't think the solution is in a wall though. We need more agents and better survelience equipment. It's unimaginable that a huge hole was built right under it and no one noticed for a while. What's the wall going to stop unless it extends down several miles below ground.

I agree it is a waste, but that is most likely his main negotiation point because he promised the wall. The worst the Dems can do is be close minded and refuse to bargain at all.

I'm accused of hating Mexicans on here from time to time and even I think the wall is a stupid idea and the promise that Mexico would pay for it was even dumber and anybody who believed it was a complete moron.

There is no way Democrats should spend $10 billion on it and let him get away with it. It's bad for the country. They also shouldn't just give away things in hopes of Republicans accepting it. If the Dream Act is in play, it's up to the REPUBLICANS to come hat in hand begging them to let them have the wall and see what else they can throw in there. Not the other way around. Until that happens, no negotiations.

Republican party is imploding in front our eyes now. Now is not the time for the Democrats to be pussies. We always accuse them of not having a spine and when they do, you guys freak out.

Refuse to compromise and let the Republicans implode at what cost?

You can take these positions because you have a family petition that is more likely than not going to get approved and deservedly so. You will be in a safer place than all DACA recipients are.

The other thing many of you forget is that immigration can still come after our parents now. It's not like we live in a bubble and such a compromise will mean we are feeding our parents to the lions. Shit is fucked up as is. Border patrol still does sting operations at stores etc. Add on to this the whole uncertainty with daca.

Trump wants that stupid wall. He wants some border security measures. Give it to him. This is not burger king. We can't have it our way.
