I'd leave once expired if there's no hope for a swift fix from congress.. there's no way I'd go back to the "shadows" - luckily my organization will allow me to continue to work remotely (no change in compensation) and or has offered me the opportunity to open up my own office overseas.

I'm thinking a nice safe beach town in a cheap country would work in my favor for a few years.

Some of our employers may be willing to do this, I know mine is. So that's probably going to be my route.

One negative? During taxes we get hit with a "self-employment" tax which can be hefty but it beats not having a job at all. There are ways to off-set it by having deductions (something T does on his taxes).

Otherwise, for some of us it'll be time to look for day-labor jobs again or pending what some of us do for a career, offer house-to-house services.
I'm also considering this option, at least until I figure out an alternative. Any links/resources you can share? Last I read about it rules vary depending on the state and it gets tricky when it comes to dealing with your paycheck/owner withdrawals.

My permits expires in August. So I have 10-11 months. Will wait for congress to act within the next six months. If nothing is done, will try to get married.

Well if I understood the decision, since my application is pending, it'll be processed (sent it before today). So if I'm lucky I'll have DACA until 2020 (assuming I get approved early 2018 since it'll probably take another couple of months). I'll just work for 2 years, earn money, and see where I am at that point.

Sucks with us cause honestly nobody knows 100% what we will do since so much can happen

im surprised many here are not willing to just keep working if their jobs "allow them" to. A lot of companies still dont check for the renewal EADs, mine didn't in 4 years. So why not just keep working until 2020, maybe we'll have a democratic president and/or congress that can fix the situation? or at least implement DACA again. Many of us worked before DACA, and it wasnt a problem when we applied for it.

My BF and I are considering the waiver, I think that as long as you get the waiver processed by an attorney, you should be fine. I had friend do it all on her own and was done in less than 2 years.
