That's the main issue Republicans have with amnesty. They don't want to keep addressing the same problem over and over again.

I honestly do not see a problem with attaching some type of security to the DREAM ACT it will look like they are trying to accommodate both sides versus just accommodating us dreamers .

When they do do CIR, then they can fix the problem. The Dream Act should not have too many extras as it's more widely accepted.

Edit: by fix the problem, I mean stopping future waves of unauthorized immigration
Let's also be realistic, there's not going to be a CIR anytime soon. It'll be a big point for 2020 candidates.

Attach border security please. Don't let other kids in the future grow up to go through the shit we are going through. Also, if the border is secured then they can solve the rest of the immigration issue by doing major immigration reform. It's a win win. No more stalesmate to get votes dems.

But, when conservative Republicans came out vocally against McConnell and Ryan’s plan, Schumer and Nancy Pelosi, the top Democrat in the House, saw an opening. They called for the three-month debt-ceiling deal, which would kick the issue into mid-December, allowing them to maintain their leverage as Congress worked out agreements on other agenda items.

Come December, Republicans will need Democrat votes for sure in the senate and most likely in the house as well to pass a new spending bill and lift the debt ceiling

And when CIR happens, they can fix the border situation.

But until then, pass the Dream Act with some border security. Republicans, however, should not expect to fix the border situation entirely right now.

It simply would not be fair compromise and would probably take too much time. Six months is not a lot of time, especially considering how much else Congress must accomplish in that time frame.
