Is this something that you have heard while you and other congressman and senators are negotiating, or are you just hoping that dreamers that would have been accepted into expanded daca dont get anything?

What exactly is your beef with dreamers that were born before June 1981?

dude relax, i'm replying to DACA-IR-DA... check all of his 900 posts.

it goes both ways, they don't want any passage of any bill that doesnt include them.

and its on the record here, if you think the 800k DACA'ers are selfish, aged out dreamers are as selfish too.

it goes both ways, my friend.

Of course the Democrats should accept. They should just negotiate well and get as much concessions from the other side.
I do disagree with ur prediction that the Republican Party is a dying Party. The Republican Party is still strong and it must continue to evolve. On the other hand, the Democratic Party is also changing so much that it is going struggle to gain power since the Democratic primaries are getting more and more leftist/Warren/Sanders/Harris clownish socialist in the closet or as they call themselves"progressives".

I think chain migration needs to be limited to nuclear families. Canada does that and their country is doing just fine.

The USA actually has one of the most liberal chain migration policies on the planet.

This country needs more entrepreneurship and immigrants that have skills and something to offer.

I do think it's fucked up that most of my cousins and uncles/aunts that DONT SPEAK ENGLISH and end up working low wage jobs and never pursue higher education or start a business are CITIZENS and never vote while I'm totally undocumented ( didn't renew my DACA cause of attorney advice), totally bilingual, know more about the Constitution and the partisan make up of Congress and 50 state governments, have a decent IQ, and have a businessman kind of mindset.

It's about time we stop allowing one person with nothing to offer to this country to then bring more people of his socio-economic level to keep jamming the immigration processing application times. Just ask anyone who was sponsored by non nuclear family members and they will tell u they have decades to wait for an answer.

The USA IS A GREAT COUNTRY AND NOT EVERYONE SHOULD JUST IMMIGRATE HERE. bring ur skills or stay home and make ur own country great again lol

This was in regards to adding border wall, chain migration, etc to a bill.

Democrats better shut it down then because republicans are not going to pass a Dream Act with only sensible border security.

I have family that was sponsored and got their green cards, then gave them up because they decided they did not want to live in America. It’s so unfortunate. “WHY ME?!”

Right...

parents -> children -> spouses

and this cycle just repeats - so the chain (actually it's a tree) is forever. Since children -> parent takes 1-2 years to get green card, and parent -> children about 5-6 years, so once mom/dad is green card, he/she can bring in other children in, and once their children are green card holders, they can bring in their own children over, and so on...

This is just simply put, false. Assuming you're a dreamer, sponsoring your parents, sure 1-2 years makes sense. But you will not be able to file for you parents until you are at least 21. The parent can't file for their other children immediately either. 1-2 years to get a greencard + 5-6 years to get citizenship results in 6-8 years before they can file for their children. Those children must be under 21 AND unmarried. The likelihood that parents have children that are 6-8 years of age apart is low. Besides if they are a Dreamer's parents, they are already all here typically.

ALL OTHER relatives are subject to quota.. meaning there are only a small number of visas available each year.. so wait times are well over a decade once the parents become us citizens.

Your tree is short-sighted and doesn't take into account the actual situation of dreamers (and other immigrants)

Dreamer --> Parents (already here) --> Children (already here, these are the dreamers) --> Spouses (how many Dreamers have a spouse in another country? oh wait, they don't cuz they are childhood arrivals). TERMINATE TREE for 99% of people.

Why anyone here thought the democrats would shut down the government for just 800k of us is my understanding.
