I am just majoring in Biology for now but i might change at some point, all I really care about is med-school so as long as I do the pre-req then it shouldn't matter that much, talk to your advisor though I'm sure they could help.

I wanted to find a major I could actually rely on in case I have to work for a little while before med school, Biology doesn't seem very reliable to me so I was thinking maybe nursing but I don't know if its a good major to have to apply with to med school.

Hmmmm well my school doesn't have a nursing major, I didn't know there were universities that offered nursing as a major ussually nursing school is a 2year program at a "nursing school" isn't it?

at least thats what I thought, and if nursing option is available it might be a good idea because I know what you mean. I don't really want to work in Biology, and in nursing you could get a lot more experience.

I might change my major too at some point and do something business related or engeneering related but still do my pre-med requirements. It's a toughie :/

If you are actually considering engineering try to look into biomedical. Med schools like that major, and it is tough but it shows you have the ability to carry on with an engineering curriculum and do med school pre reqs at the same time. I really REALLY hate engineering I just cannot go through 4 years doing something I hate and that's why I didn't choose that major.

And yes you can get a bachelors in nursing, thats why I saw it as a possibility.

FYI, nurse anesthesia salaries start at 6 figures? thats crazy! my teacher told me that today.

BUMP

Just want to let you guys know I found studentdoctor.net and I think this is a GREAT site for information on everything you should know about med school. There is a Pre-Allopathic (MD) forum as well and suprisingly people are not arrogant at all unlike... nevermind.

Also, mdapplicants.com gives you a good idea as to what the resumes of the people who have been accepted to med school are like. I had been wondering what the qualfications of these people were and this site gave me a pretty good idea of it.

Also I heard that the NAVY actually has a prgram were they will legalize someone and pay their tution for medical school as well as living expenses as long as afterwards you work as a doctor for them for the same amount of years as they paid for your tuition.

very interesting info and not exactly what Id prefer but if I have to then I think it sounds better than nothing you know?

If you want some more info send me a PM or something

I know!! I desperately need to know that all that I am doing right now will not be in vain.
Seems like you're on the right track keeping your grades up and stuff.
Oh and by the way, I'm a girl
