Trump is one of the best negotiators, even wrote a book on it and one of the principles is being willing to leave a deal, which he did. Democrats were being greedy and now they are whimpering back to the negotiating table like spoiled brats.
You are being too ambitious. There are people that have waited decades to immigrate legally to the US. We are nobody to cut ahead of them or create a situation where they cannot immigrate anymore. We are not the center of the world.

A conversation is a long ways from making it happen but I guess we'll see.

I'm going to go ahead and say we get relief before Mexico ever gets a world cup.

Everything has a cost. Yea maybe they're willing to provide a path to citizenship, but that'll cost you a huge reduction in family reunification.

Want to include the entire DACA-eligible population? That'll cost you the end of diversity visa + $10 additional billion in wall funding.

Everything has a cost and those costs are too great for Democrats. My examples are probably too moderate. God only knows what they're actually asking for.

I have said multiple times that I will accept any outcome to what is happening. I don't think I am entitled to anything --good or bad-- but this is what we have to work with. The immigration bill being created and refined is not being written by me but by the people in power.

Also, even Trump sees that DACA is a special case and wants a fix for not only us but immigration as a whole. When I was six months old I wasn't thinking, "yeah I am going to cut this person in line to screw them over." I shouldn't have been brought here as a baby but i was. And 27 years later I think the government can come up with a better solution than a 2 year worker card while ignoring other problems like chain migration.

Out of curiosity, what do you propose? From what I gather, you think we should either go back to our country after being here our whole life (I am pushing close to 30yrs) so that someone who has never been here can come? How is that justice when we would be getting punished for what our parents did?

If you believe in this so strongly, you should give up everything good in your life because someone else wanted it first? I know people who have been trying to get into Google for longer than you probably, should you give them your job? How about giving up your worker card so that it opens a vacancy? You can start first and tell me how it works out. And if you think they wouldn't do the same (apply for DACA) if they were in my shoes you are delusional.

@frankthorp
Cornyn leaves bipartisan immigration meeting saying he and Durbin will be the “clearing house” for proposals from both sides.
