My message to those considering renewing #DACA. This lawsuit changes nothing in your calculus. Talk to a legal provider, see if renewal is right for you. 3/ @karentumlin

Ken Paxton. His vision clearly does not align with that of DACA recipients.

Immigrant rights advocates were swift to denounce the lawsuit. Mario Carrillo, state director for America's Voice in Texas, said: "Ken Paxton is doing everything he can to keep Dreamers living in fear of deportation to countries they barely remember. The vast majority of Texans want young immigrants to stay and have demanded Congress pass a permanent solution. Paxton's anti-immigrant streak isn't about the rule of law, it's about crushing the futures of Texans whose only desire is to continue contributing to the state they call home."

That’s what I needed to hear.

Most likely.

@imillhiser
Under normal circumstances, it's not unreasonable for a judge to transfer a case to another judge in the same district who handled a similar matter. This decision is only upsetting because Hanen is such an ass.

@EricColumbus
Also, Hanen’s case also involved the 2014 expansion to DACA. All the issues at play then are at play now. One added hurdle now is that TX will have to explain why they sat on their rights for 6 yrs.
