Health care is a basic necessity, just like K-12 education. Civilised countries ensure it's automatic because health care is not...optional. Everyone needs it.

I paid out of pocket, out of state cost. NC is quite cheap compared to other places. Many people here are from California where the taxpayer subsidizes their degrees and unfortunately costs are soaring now that its taxpayer backed. Get the government out of backing loans for school and perhaps costs might get back in line, it'll hurt temporarily, but the pain is well worth a well educated society in whatever they wish to study on their own dime.

K-12 education in this country is so damn screwed, the government fucked it up. But you wont see them sending their kids to a local public school! They send their kids to private schools only! I wonder whyyyyy hmmmmm. When I have my kids I think NC has a voucher where you can take your public school tax money and apply it to a private school. That way you arent hit with paying twice.

Way to overreach and assume I am against healthcare, read it again, I am against the high cost. The richest nation in the world and in history should not have healthcare that is obscenely expensive. You ensure that the prices stay high, by spreading the obscene costs to everyone else. Thats not functional, that's plain RETARDED. Where does personal responsibility fall into play?

Many of our fellow americans travel to Mexico cause its way cheaper to get healthcare in our mighty and powerful homeland than it is to get healthcare here in the richest nation on the planet.
