I don’t think anyone believed Biden and the Democratic Party would have a magic wand to fix things. However, Biden and the Democratic Party made things a lot worse by forcing people to either get vaccinated or lose their jobs.

That’s not something you do at a moment when people have already suffered huge financial losses due to COVID. Then you add what’s going on with the border in addition to a Congress not doing anything is another red flag.

Biden and the entire Democratic Party should have put Sinema and Manchin on blast for obstructing their agenda. But somehow they still have this mentality that they will come around just like the GOP eventually will and that is just a pipe dream.

I worry that we get a smart version of trump (desantis) in 2024.

I don’t see Desantis running against Trump for the nomination in 2024, there’s too much loyalty there.

Trump will run again no doubt in 2024. If anything he may seek Desantis to join him on the ticket as a VP.

I’d much rather have him than Trump.

It's Desantis for sure. I monitor right wing nut forums, they're done w/Trump for POTUS. DeSantis doesn't give a flyn' fuck about the orange one short of sucking up to him to get the base

A lot of it comes down to messaging. Democrats are terrible at messaging, while GOP excel in it. For example, vaccination requirements aren't a new thing - schools, colleges, and some professions require them. It only became a big deal because of Trump and the GOP. And the Democrats never learned how to counter it properly.

Also Americans are tired of the pandemic and will blame the party in power even if the Democrats aren't at fault (ie: Delta Variant surge that occurred during the summer)

Vaccines have never been this high of requirement as it is now. A lot of voters are upset because they feel that no government mandate should dictate how to live their lives. If you look at what's going on now, the Country has turned its backs on our first responders.

The people that helped us get through this pandemic when there was no COVID protections and very little testing happening, are now losing on their jobs.

I do agree their messaging has been wrong, you would think they would have learned from the 2016 elections, but the Democratic Party is so out of touch with voters that they don't realize how fast they are sinking.

With the correct messaging, the South can be won. You look at Roy Cooper in North Carolina and John Bel Edwards in Louisiana, both Democratic candidates that won in a deep red State and simple because they got their messaging right to what their State needed.

The vaccine requirements aren't some nefarious plot by the government. Vaccine has and will save thousands of lives, and the vaccine has been proven safe. Voters are also out of touch with reality.
