- Title 42 is expiring, something republicans really want to keep.
- Federal reserve says US economy is short at least 3+ million jobs, businesses having trouble finding workers. It's a large driver for the current inflation and is very sticky.
- US birth rate at 1.6 per female, need 2.1 to just keep the current population.
- 1 million+ COVID deaths and counting. COVID hospitalizations are at a 4 month high.

Yet... there's no deal. I use to think that eventually common sense will prevail but time and time again, politics prove that it doesn't adhere to simple truths
You make excellent points about people who think rationally and logically but sadly that is not the case when it comes to politics.

It's most likely a long shot but I think the best we can hope for right now is for them to extend the daca program and allow it to fully restart. Since that is a program already in place, it would be the quickest option to attach to the omnibus or to adjust in some way. It's too bad no one has mentioned that option.

It is estimated that there are 600K-800K new people that are eligible to enroll in daca and that would bring our numbers up to 1.2M. The larger our numbers, the harder it would be to kill the program.

Honestly the most possible outcome is that Hanen spares the 600k who have DACA and then closes the door completely for everyone else.

Let's hope this is what happens. I thought with CBP and HFA endorsing the framework, we might get something accomplished before the end of the year.

And we've heard nothing from the Dems regarding at the very least protecting current beneficiaries.

Anyone who has the opportunity to take advantage of AP or 601A should do so. You don't know who will be the president after 2024.

I believe that was for TPS only. DACA people can still take advantage of it.

I was extremely nervous about doing 601A and leaving the U.S for the interview, but glad I did it. I just don't see any relief for us in the foreseeable future.
