Just a quick thing to add.

Please do NOT under any circumstances check "United States Citizen" if you're not. I say this only because my husband is under a lifetime ban from the US for a false claim of citizenship that he didn't even have the responsibility of making.

It is a little-known detail of US immigration law. There is no waiver for it, and no recourse until they reform the INA of 1996:

Quote:
INA § 212(A)(6)(C)(ii)
(ii)FALSELY CLAIMING CITIZENSHIP-
(I) IN GENERAL- Any alien who falsely represents, or has falsely represented, himself or herself to be a citizen of the United States for any purpose or benefit under this Act (including section 274A ) or any other Federal or State law is inadmissible.
And yes, college admission could be included in this. Although immigration hopefully would not have access to your university records, nothing is guaranteed in the world of immigration, they are sneaky people, and you wouldn't want this to kill any chances you have at any future reforms, including DREAM act eligibility.

Please be careful, guys. It's tricky out there!!

Every college I applied to had no problem with my status, and I was offered generous aid from many. If any (private) liberal arts East Coast colleges interest you, you may PM me, I dealt with those the most.
