That was an extremely smart thing to wasn't it, can't beleive some find this MOD EDIT funny on the day two dreamers received denial letters.
This forum is for discussion and to ease minds of dreamers and to guide new applicants down the correct path. I have found out that I probably should have put US and I have also found out its a very grey area question and Superanxious has also added to the discussion that she read USCIS accept both. That is what the forum is for. Any new people now know US is the correct answer for question 9 Country of Residence but dreamers who put something else may not need to worry.
I really feel for sis and bil and I think the lawyer should have put US as I have now had at least 8 lawyers come back to me and with no hesitation say US is the correct answer. However there is no real indication on the denial letter that both were denied for answering question 9 incorrectly. I beleive it said they did not show that they lived in the US continously for 5 years. Now that is the lawyers fault if sis and bil gave her all what we have heard they gave.
It would be good to hear from Dreamers who have been approved and put something other than US in answer to question 9. That would really help anyone who has put something other than US.

Well I don't know anyone else who put their country of birth for that answer so you're essentially our guinea pig. Hopefully if enough people didn't put USA the USCIS will assest it and explained it further and clearer

OP I'm truly sorry about your family members denial. I started thinking and I'm not so sure how comfortable they'd feel about this but what if you try contacting this Immigration lawyer that appears a lot in the TV Channel Univision. Apparently they say she's pretty good perhaps she could give some advice?
