how long does it take for you to get your SSN? I applied on November 9 and I really want to get a job for the holidays and I need to do it soon because there aren't a lot of jobs left

The card arrived at my address

My packaged arrive today at 11 am. its going to be a long 2 months of waiting

In case you didn't know I already called them twice! Both agents told me different things, last I called the woman said the normal processing time for EAD is 90 days... and as for i821d can be around 4 to 6 months!

tip:a friend of mine asked about her SS number before her card was printed and she used that in mean while.

That is, the person at the social security office informed her what her number was going to be when she first went. She used that for her job and explained to her employer.

Do I need to pay anything to apply for a new social security? Thanks

I applied for my social security card on Friday and did not have to pay for anything. However, they do a quick interview.

What do they ask you?

They asked me if i had ever worked in the united states. If so, did i use a social security number or an ITIN number to work. Also if i had received goverment assistance like health insurance or food stamps. They let you know that your interview will be recorded and you could be charged for.perjury.

The lady I talked to didn't ask a single question. It really depends on your luck to tell you the truth. However, if they did asked me if I ever worked, i'd have said no.
