Most people suck at first. Don't let it get you down. I've only been driving since late August but I've already improved a lot. I still make mistakes, but I try not to let me get it down. I just remember that the person teaching me (my sister) is a good driver now but she also sucked when she started years ago.

I haven't driven much but I suggest you always keep a look out everywhere around you, check your surroundings and be vigilante for any possible hazards. Don't keep your vision to the car right in front of you. Try to look ahead, if you see cars stopping, you will know when to stop instead of just looking at the car in front of you and trying to stop right after it stops.

Practice, take notice of how much you are turning the steering wheel when making a turn. Always brake before entering a turn, not during the turn.
thanks, i'm really heavy footed i guess so the car would jerk whenever i stepped on gas and break. i couldn't get used to it.

Don't be so down. I sucked so hard when I started driving, but my mom gave me this advice (more like yelled it to me): "The car is just a machine, so don't let it control you. You control the car!"

When you brake, ease your foot onto the pedal. Don't brake suddenly. Whenever you get to a red light, give yourself enough time to come to a gradual stop instead of a sudden stop.

When you begin your turn, ease your foot off the pedal and apply the brake as needed. You may have to step on the pedal as you're about to complete the turn. ALWAYS signal!

Driving takes intuition. You need to keep practicing until the movements feel natural to you. Soon enough, your feet will know what to do without you even thinking about it. Good luck!

I have tried to look for an answer to this question:

Does anyone know which DMV's in So-Cal don't check the license of the person's car you're going to be using?

My parents do not have a license, but the car is registered and insured.

I'm pretty sure all that matters is that it is registered and insured.

Yeah, I would like to believe it also but the dmv websites wants a valid license... which is idiotic.

I took a friend with me to my drive test. She has a DL but they never checked her ID or anything. I just showed up at my appt time, they asked me to show insurance, registration, and my permit. Everything was under my name. Then they asked me, did you bring some1 with a valid drivers license? I said yes, then they told me to wait outside in the designated parking spot for the instructor to arrive. The lady showed up and asked, "which of you two is going to take the test?" I said I was and I got in the car and the test started. After I passed it I went back inside the DMV, they gave me my interim DL.

I guess it all depends on them if they check ID or not. This was at the Banning DMV(riverside county).

Haha. I was like WTF the Banning DMV? Then I remembered you're the one that lives in Beaumont. Where did they make you drive during the test?
